Last updated August 2026. This policy explains what information TakeoffAI collects and how it is used.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address and any profile details you choose to add, such as your name, job title, company and default measurement units.
Project content. We store the projects, plan set PDFs, sheets, conditions, measurements, markups, catalog products and reports you create in the workspace.
Messages you send us. If you use a contact or support form, we receive the name, email, company and message you submit so we can respond.
Operational data. Our infrastructure providers process standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and request logs to serve and secure the application.
How we use information
- To provide the takeoff workspace and store your project data
- To authenticate you and control access to your projects
- To send account, product and notification email you have asked for
- To respond to support, sales and security enquiries
- To diagnose errors, prevent abuse and improve the product
AI processing
When you request AI-assisted detection on a sheet, the relevant drawing content is sent to our AI provider to generate detection candidates that are returned to you for review. We do not use your drawings to advertise to you.
Sharing information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers who help us operate the product — hosting, managed database and storage, email delivery and AI processing — and when required by law or to protect our rights. Project data is visible to the project owner and to members you add to that project.
Data retention
We keep your account and project data for as long as your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and its associated project data by emailing us; we will action the request and remove the data from active systems, with backups aging out on their normal cycle.
Security
Access to project data requires an authenticated account, project records are scoped to owners and members, uploaded files are stored in private buckets, and traffic is served over HTTPS. See our security page for more detail. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
- Update your profile details at any time in account settings
- Request a copy or deletion of your data by email
- Opt out of non-essential product email by replying to any message
Children
TakeoffAI is a business product and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify account holders by email.
