Workflow guides
Getting started
- Create an account, then create your first project from the Projects page.
- Upload a plan set PDF — each page becomes an addressable sheet.
- Open a sheet in the takeoff viewer to begin measuring.
Calibrating scale
- Open a sheet and press K (or use the scale banner) to start calibration.
- Trace across a dimension you know — a scale bar, grid spacing or dimension string.
- Enter the real-world length and units. The sheet is now calibrated.
- Repeat per sheet: mixed-scale plan sets each keep their own scale.
Measurement modes
- Length: pipe runs, curb, fence, conduit — reported in LF or m.
- Area: paving, slabs, seeding, finishes — reported in SF or m².
- Volume: excavation, base course, fill — area plus a depth value.
- Count: structures, fixtures, devices — reported in EA.
Conditions and layers
- Create conditions for each scope you are pricing.
- Assign a color so scopes stay visually distinct on the sheet.
- Use layers to hide disciplines, markups or AI detections while you work.
Product catalog import
- Open the Catalog page and choose Import.
- Upload a CSV with name, SKU, unit and unit cost columns.
- Map the columns, review the preview, then confirm the import.
- Assign products to conditions so extended costs calculate automatically.
Reports and exports
- Open Reports and select a project to see quantities rolled up by condition.
- Export CSV for your bid spreadsheet.
- Or email the report — the recipient gets a summary with the CSV attached.
