- Compare your totals to the engineer's quantity summary by scope, not just in aggregate.
The opposite failure: gaps
Match lines also cause omissions, especially when a run crosses onto a sheet you have not opened yet — an off-site utility sheet, a separate roadway improvement sheet, or an enlarged intersection detail. Before declaring a scope complete, walk the sheet index and confirm every sheet that shows that scope has been measured.
